Peaceful restoration of territorial integrity chief aim of new Georgian govt - ambassador

For nine months of activity of Georgia's new Ministers Cabinet, the main goal of the government is the restoration of the country's territorial integrity by peaceful means, Georgia's ambassador to Azerbaijan Teymuraz Sharashanidze told journalists on Wednesday.

According to the ambassador, the main goals of the new government are: investments, European integration, dialogue with Russia and the rule of law.

"With this aim, the government conducts a series of reforms and changes in the structure and activity of state bodies," the ambassador said.

According to him, Georgia's relations with the West, including USA, develop in a positive way, including a number of bilateral meetings and joint Georgian-American doctrine.
According to the ambassador, the initialing of the agreement on association with the EU is expected in November.

"Moreover, the issues such as trade agreement and visa-free regime with the EU are also considered," the ambassador said.
