U.S. envoy to Turkey climbs Mount Agri

US Ambassador to Turkey Francis J. Ricciardone started to climb the Mount Agr? on Sunday with his wife and daughter Today`s Zaman reproted.

After visiting historic sites of Agr?'s Dogubeyaz?t district on Saturday, Ricciardone left his hotel on Sunday morning to start a three-day-long climbing mission up Turkey's highest mountain, Mount Agr?.

Until a certain point, the US ambassador was accompanied by his security guards but at the 2,200th meter of the mountain, the climbers continued on their way with only a guide.
