Rena Safaraliyeva: "There are inaccuracies related to the Global Corruption Barometer report"

30 June 2008 [15:37] - TODAY.AZ
"Global Corruption Barometer report was released on December 6 of 2007, which contains different information.

The information regarding the rating was taken from another report of Transparency International - Global Corruption Report 2007, which was released in September of 2007".

The due announcement was made by head of the Azerbaijani office of the organization for combat with corruption Transparency International Rena Safaraliyeva, commenting on information that Transparency International has released its annual report on Corruption Barometer, according to which Azerbaijan is ranking 40th in the lost of the world's most corrupt countries.

"The report really says that Azerbaijan is the 40th on the list, but I would like to repeat that this information was released in September of the last year. The next report of the kind will be released in September of 2008.

Now we can conclude that information, spread by some mass medias, has some inaccuracies. First, old data was spread as new and second, the source was pointed out incorrectly", said Safaraliyeva.
