Ramiz Mehdiyev says Azerbaijani-Russian relations are on the rise - UPDATE - PHOTOS

The 3rd All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress wrapped up on Friday in Moscow. Speaking at the congress with an extensive report, Chief of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev dwelled on the state policy of Azerbaijan on work with Azeri diaspora abroad, high level of Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral relations. "The decisions of the Congress will give a special impetus to the revitalization and greater coordination of the Diaspora," said Mehdiyev.

Ramiz Mehdiyev drew attention of the participants to the fact that Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AMOR) plays a significant role in the consolidation of the Azerbaijani youth in Russia. ‘Azerbaijanis living in Russia, have a great intellectual, economic, cultural and socio-political potential, and it is encouraging that the Azerbaijani diaspora successfully integrated into Russian society,” Chief of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration said.

Concerning the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, Ramiz Mehdiyev said that “two countries reached an agreement on such issues as the status of Gabala radar station, the status of the Caspian Sea and state border.” “Azerbaijani-Russian relations are on the rise," he said.
On behalf of the President Ilham Aliyev, Ramiz Mehdiyev awarded the President of All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress Mammad Aliyev with “The Friendship” order.

Chief of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration also conferred “Tereggi” (Progress) medal on Russian entrepreneur God Nisanov for his patronage and support of compatriots in Russia and a diploma conferring the title of "Honored Artist of Azerbaijan" to the director of a Moscow theater "Dervish" Mardan Feyzullaev.

Addressing the Congress ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu emphasized the importance of coordination and interaction among Diaspora organizations.

Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Chair of Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia Leyla Aliyeva, President of All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress Mammad Aliyev, entrepreneurs Aras Agalarov, Vagit Alekperov, Abbas Abbasov, Farhad Akhmedov, a political scientist Ismail Agakishiev were elected members of the Presidium of the Central Council of All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress.

The 3rd All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress has today started in Moscow.The event brought together chief of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehtiyev, the head of the Russian Presidential Administration`s Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Sergey Vinokurov, Chairman of Russia-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Yefim Pivovar, first deputy director general of ITAR-TASS News Agency Mikhail Gusman, Azeri ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbul oglu and other prominent figures.Chief of All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress Mammad Aliyev told of the Congress`s activity over the past 10 years.

The head of the Russian Presidential Administration`s Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Sergey Vinokurov read out a congratulatory letter of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to the congress participants.

Chief of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehtiyev wished participants success and read out a letter of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev.About 130 delegates from 72 regions of Moscow and other regions of Russia participated in the congress.

The All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress was founded in March 5 2001 with support of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The Congress implements numerous projects on bringing Russian Azerbaijanis together, protecting their rights and freedoms, popularizing cultural heritage and truth on Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani MP Mikhail Zabelin left for Moscow to participate in the 3rd Congress of All-Russian Azerbaijani Congress. A wide range of issues including participation of Azerbaijani Diaspora in socio-political and socio-economic life of Russia, role of development of friendly and cultural relations will be discussed at the event. The visit will end on Nov. 26.
