Speaking about court decisions on journalists' arrest the chief said he takes unanimous stance on the matter.
"We cannot comment on court decisions, because the court is independent. We should respect its decisions. We do not want any journalist to be arrested, but they should realize that opposite side can appeal to court," he said.
Hasanov approved the proposals on expanding authorities of Press Council.
Touching upon the government's pressure on press Hasanov said he does not agree with this statement.
"Azerbaijan did a lot for maintaining freedom of press. If any journalist has problem with the government that is his fault," he said.
Hasanov also noted that the meeting of editors with the president is not under discussion, APA reports.
