Price of tickets for Islamic Solidarity Games announced

Some 260,000 tickets will be put up for sale for the upcoming 4th Islamic Solidarity Games scheduled for May in Baku.

Corporate Director at AISGOC Elchin Safarov said that the ticket sale will begin starting Novruz holiday (in March).

“It also includes tickets to the opening and closing ceremonies of the Islamic Games. Competition tickets will cost 2 manats ($1) and above. The most expensive tickets will cost 5 manats ($2.56). We have taken this step so that more fans can watch the Games. Tickets for the the opening ceremony starts from 20 manats ($10), and for closing - 10 manats ($5),” he said.

Sport fans will also be able to purchase the tickets online. “We will organize the sale of tickets in supermarkets, with which we cooperate," Safarov added.

A multinational and multi-sport event involving the elite athletes of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation will be held on May 12-22. The event will welcome over 5,000 athletes to compete in 20 sports disciplines during the 12 days of competition. 

Being the 4th in the edition, the Games will host as many as 57 countries, which means the record number of the participants in the history of the event. 

The decision to hold the fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku was made at the eighth General Assembly of the ISSF in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in July 2013.

The official opening ceremony and closing of the fourth Islamic Solidarity Games will be held at the Baku Olympic Stadium.
