31 October 2008 [10:46] - TODAY.AZ
Baku will host an international conference "Different forms of Islamophobia and xenophobia: impact on youth and youth role in their prevention" on November 4-8.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intigam Babayev told Day.Az that the conference is organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Council of Europe, ISESCO, European Youth Forum and the Youth Forum of the Organization "Islamic Conference".

The event will be held under the slogan "beyong the religious differences". The conference will be attended by 120 representatives (20 from Azerbaijan) from 44 countries.

"Azerbaijan was chosen a venue for the forum not by accident", said Intigam Babayev. Our country almost never had problems with other regions and nations, not considering our neighbors, that were first to initiate the military actions against Azerbaijan. Our country is one of the leaders in the world by the level of tolerance towards the representatives of other nations and religions.

The deputy minister noted that the conference will discuss not only the issues of Islamic religion but also others. The Baku youth initiative will be adopted by results of the discussions.
