Results of three public hearings on violence against women and early marriage to be announced

The findings presented at the Public hearings have been based on a recently launched UNIFEM Report on the status of IDP women in Azerbaijan, UN office in Azerbaijan told the APA.

The report and subsequent public hearings are being carried out by the National Network of IDP Women, which was established in 2003 through the support of UNIFEM's regional project Women for Conflict Prevention and Peace-building in the Southern Caucasus. They have organized three public hearings in Fuzuli, Aghdam and Ganja regions of Azerbaijani aiming at raising awareness among IDPs, community leaders and local government about women's human rights and government commitments in protecting women and girls from violence and early marriage.
