Investigation materials of Penitentiary Service's 72 former officials sent to court

The investigation material of the criminal case against Penitentiary Service's 72 former officials were sent to the court, Vugar Aliyev, the chief of General Prosecutor's Office press service, told.

He said that investigated criminal cases are connected with irregularities in Justice Ministry Treatment Center, detention place #7, Intendant-Supply and Trade Base of Main Office for Executing Court Decisions and mass unrest in detention places #11 and 13.

Seven investigated cases have been already sent to courts. The court made decisions on six of them.

The trials of 24 former officials of Penitentiary Services continue in the Court of Grave Crimes presided by Judge Eynulla Valiyev. The investigation of the some episodes of the cases by former officials is ongoing. They will be sent to the court after the investigation is finished.

Heads and officers of some companies cooperating with the officials of Penitentiary Service were also held accountable.

Over 200 officers of this service were punished and 60 high ranking officials were dismissed by Justice Ministry authority after above mentioned irregularities, APA reports.
