Azerbaijan, a favorite locale for many hunting enthusiasts, attracts many foreigners to the country, especially Saudi royals.

Recently, Saudi prince Mohammed bin Rashid Ghadeer was spotted hunting in the country's Hajigabul region.

One of the 19 children of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is vice-president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai, Rashid Ghadeer had returned to Azerbaijan to indulge in his favorite hobby, local media reported.

The prince arrived in the country accompanied by an entourage of 15 people. His servants and four chefs had arrived in the region’s Garasu Village the day before him.

On his Instagram page, the prince shared a selfie taken with a child of one of local shepherds, registering a large number of likes.

The renowned Dubai prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid is also expected to visit the village in the near future.

Now, Arab sheikhs train their hunting falcons by feeding them pigeons purchased from local residents. The real hunting will start when the first migratory birds appear over Garasu.

The Hajigabul region, with its dry, hot semi-desert climate, rests on the southeast Kura-Araz plain. Historically, the Great Silk Road passed through the Hajigabul city en route to the Persian Gulf.

Travel experts believe that the visits of Arab sheikhs to the country create an opportunity for developing hunting tourism in the country, along creating seasonal jobs for locals. The locals set up tents, deliver food, and cook for the guests.
