Over 140,000 families get targeted social aid in Azerbaijan in 2013

As of January 1, 2014, the state targeted social aid was assigned to 140,711 families (615,516 people) in Azerbaijan. Some 39,852 families have three or more children, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare said on Thursday.

Some 8433 children under one year are in those families receiving targeted social aid, at the age of 18 there are 296,185 people, under 18 years old with disabilities the figure stands at 296,185 and over 18 family members amount to 20,253 people, according to the report.

The average amount of targeted social aid per one family is 126.88 manat, while breaks down to 29.01 manat per family member.

The criterion of need used to calculate the targeted social aid increased 3.3 times and reached 100 manat in 2014 compared to 2006, the report says.
