A park will be laid out in place of Azneftyag oil refinery in Nobel Avenue in Baku, Chairman of Azerbaijani State Committee for City Building and Architecture Abbas Alasgarov said on Thursday.
He said a decision has been taken to move this plant outside the city.
"We call on al entrepreneurs not to appeal us with any project on construction of facilities in this territory. A park will be laid out there," Alasgarov said.
He said one of the major projects on cleaning oil-field areas will be cleaning of area around the Boyukshor Lake.
"A modern complex with parks, golf club and other facilities will be created in this territory," Alasgarov said.
He said housing to accommodate 70,000 people will be built within the White City project, which envisages cleaning of oil-field areas in the so-called Black City area.
These works are envisaged within the development plan of Greater Baku.
