
Reconstruction of the Tagiyev-Sahilhighway is expected to be completed by late 2012.
Spokesman for Azeryolservis OJSC of the Azerbaijani Transport Ministry Punhan Mursaliyev said the total length of the reconstructed road is 41.4 km.
"Eleven bridges, 4 cross-roads and eight bus station are expected to be constructed on the highway. Some 70% of the work, which began in April 2010, has already been completed. Thus, construction of 4 crossings for cattle, 7 bridges and laying of water and sewage pipes was already completed.
The road, which is of great importance, mainly for cargo transportation, will allow vehicles moving from the southern and western regions of the country, to bypass the city on the 36th kilometer of the Baku-Russia highway, he noted.
