Regions of Kazakhstan, Russia up trade turnover

The turnover of the North-Kazakhstan region with three Russian regions increased to $ 213 million, or 30 percent for 8 months of 2017.

The Kazakh region mainly cooperates with the Omsk, Tyumen and Kurgan regions,Kazakh media reports referring to the business administration.

North Kazakhstan imported products for $184.6 million, while exports exceeded $ 28.4 million. The Kazakh export to the border regions of Russia included wheat, flour, meat and processed products.

As for the east of Kazakhstan, the region’s trade turnover with the Russian Federation increased by 8 percent.

The region supplies processed metals and high-tech equipment to the neighboring country, namely capacitors and ball valves. The East Kazakhstan is one of Russia's strategic partners in the field of cross-border cooperation. Only this year the foreign trade turnover of the region with the neighboring country amounted to $656 million.

The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia for the eight months of 2017 amounted to $ 10 billion, which is 31 percent more than in the same period in 2016.

The Russian Federation ranks first among the trade partners of Kazakhstan with the share of 20 percent in the trade turnover.

Kazakhstan today occupies the second place in the trade turnover of Russia among the CIS countries, and among the countries of the world it is in the top ten.

The Russian Federation invests more than $ 1 billion annually in the economy of Kazakhstan. In 2016 Russia invested more than $ 1 billion in the Kazakhstan economy, and Kazakhstan invested about $ 700 million in the Russian Federation.
