Turkish PM calls for UN Security Council reform

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has called for the UN Security Council reform, the Turkish media reported on October 18.

He said that that the UN Security Council must meet the current requirements of the world community.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also repeatedly called for the UN Security Council reform.

Erdogan had said that Western countries do nothing to prevent or stop such tendencies as xenophobia, racism or the spread of hostility towards Islam.

"We want the UN Security Council to have a democratic, transparent and fair structure," Erdogan said.
