Accident at oil field in Kazakhstan

An accident occurred at Karazhanbas oil field in Kazakhstan’s Mangistau Region, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported citing a source in regional emergency situations department.

Reportedly, an emission of gas and water mixture occurred as oil workers were washing Karazhanbas field’s well #5529 on September 27.
No one was injured and oil workers eliminated the problem on their own.
Karazhanbas oil field is located on the Buzachi peninsula. Its recoverable oil reserves are estimated at 96.983 million tons.
The field is being developed by Karazhanbasmunai. In 2015, the company produced 2.138 million tons of oil and plans to produce 2.14 million tons in 2016.
