Iran to go on with military assistance to Syria, Iraq

30 May 2016 [17:23] - TODAY.AZ

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has said that Tehran will continue its advisory military mission in Iraq and Syria in fight against terrorism.

Reacting to the recent remarks by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir, Amir-Abdollahian said that the Islamic Republic will firmly continue its advisory assistance to the Iraqi and Syrian governments in their fight against terrorism, IRNA news agency reported.

Adel al-Jubeir May 29 accused Iran of intervening in Syria and Iraq urging Tehran to put an end to its military presence in the Arab countries.

The deputy foreign minister described its advisory aid to the governments of Iraq and Syria as a contribution to the security and stability of all the countries in the region and the world.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian further said that there would have been no safe place in the West Asia, if Iran had not provided the armies of Iraq and Syria with military assistance in fight against terrorism.
