First deputy chairman of central bank appointed in Uzbekistan

Saidkamol Hojaev has been appointed first deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan by the decree of the country’s president, according to the press service of the bank.

Hojaev previously worked as chairman of the board of the open joint-stock commercial bank ‘Uzbek Industrial and Construction Bank’, according to the press service.

Until now, Ulugbek Mustafayev worked as the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. He has been holding the post since 2010.

Fayzulla Mullajanov has been the chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan since 1993.

There are 26 commercial banks in the banking system of Uzbekistan, including three state-owned, five with the participation of foreign capital, seven private and 11 joint-stock ones.
