29 September 2014 [10:03] - TODAY.AZ

Iran’s total PVC output capacity is around 700,000 metric tons per year.

However, the Managing Director of Ghadir Petrochemical Complex, Masoud Saeedi said the country's actual production rate stands at 400,000-420,000 metric tons per year, IRNA news agency reported Sept. 28.

“Domestic consumption of PVC also stands at 350,000 metric tones per year,” he said.

“Ghadir Petrochemical Complex exports around 30 percent of its products to
foreign countries including Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Central
Asia,” Saeedi added.

Ghadir Petrochemical Complex is one of the four complexes in Iran that can
produce PVC.

Polyvinyl chloride, commonly abbreviated PVC, is the third-most widely produced polymer, after polyethylene and polypropylene.
