France's Hollande heads to Georgia

French President Francois Hollande will visit Georgia in the coming months, the presided told journalists in Vilnius on Friday.

According to Hollande, the agreement on his visit to Georgia was reached at a meeting with President Giorgi Margvelashvili.

The French president welcomed Georgia's progress and the country's prospects to become an EU associate member.

"We also discussed Georgia's territorial integrity and current events in the region," Hollande said. "We agreed that I will visit Georgia in the coming months."

President Margvelashvili appreciated the meeting with his French counterpart, the Georgian president's press service told Trend.

"We talked about future cooperation and work to be carried out within 2014," Margvelashvili added.
