Turkey aims to produce domestic passenger vehicle

Turkey, which ranks 16th in the world in terms of the development of automotive industry, intends to manufacture a passenger car of domestic production, on Friday Anadolu agency quotes Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on an official visit to the United States, as saying.

According to Erdogan, Turkey is the second country in the world after China in terms of growth in electricity consumption.

"Turkey implements a program to increase the GDP in 2011-2017. Thus, in these years the GDP will grow by an average of 6.7 percent," Erdogan said.

As for the tourism sector in Turkey, the Prime Minister noted that this area is developing rapidly. In 2003, 13 million tourists visited Turkey, in 2012 this figure grew up to 32 million people, Erdogan said.
