22 April 2013 [18:27] - TODAY.AZ
Within the session of PACE, a meeting of the Georgian and Russian delegations is not planned and the information disseminated about this is untrue, member of the Georgian delegation to PACE, Tina Khidasheli, who is in Strasbourg, told Georgian reporters on Monday.

Russian news agencies reported the day before that the first meeting of Russian and Georgian delegations since the 2008 military conflict has been scheduled within the PACE session.

On April 23, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili will address PACE, he will answer MPs' questions.

The Russian delegation to PACE intends to raise the question before the Georgian Prime Minister on changes in the Georgian leadership's foreign policy towards Russia, Chairman of the State Duma's International Affairs Committee, Alexey Pushkov told reporters on Monday.

Large scale military actions were launched in South Ossetia in Georgia on August 8, 2008.

Later, Russian troops occupied Tskhinvali and expelled the Georgian military. Russia recognized the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia late in August. Tbilisi ended diplomatic relations with Moscow in response and declared the two unrecognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia occupied territories.
