Armenian FM intends to leave his post

The current Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian wants to leave his post and return to France as Armenian ambassador, Novosti Armenia wrote referring to the Avangard newspaper.

According to the newspapers, the post of Foreign Minister will be taken by the Head of the Presidential Administration Vigen Sargsyan.

It is noted in the report that the candidacy of Vigen Sargsyan is acceptable for many people because he is considered to be a promising figure.

'Born in 1975, Sargsysan has already managed to pass a significant career path, and received very good education', the newspaper says.

According to the Constitution of Armenia, on the day of taking office (50 days after the election), the president shall accept the resignation of the government.

Within 10 days after accepting the resignation of government, the head of state appoints a person enjoying the confidence of most MPs to be the new Prime Minister. The government is formed within 20 days after that appointment. Currently, the Prime Minister of Armenia is Tigran Sargsyan.
