Azerbaijan to join event on USSR collapse in Georgia

An international conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the collapse of the USSR and jointly organized by Ilia State University, Atlantic Council of Georgia and European House Georgia will take place in Tbilisi on Dec.10-12, 2011, the Azerbaijani Center for Strategic Studies (SAM) reported.

Expert of the Center Haydar Mirza will deliver a report on "History of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict and Settlement Perspectives" at the conference. The dissolution process of the USSR, political process took place in the former soviet countries during that process, historical context of the South Caucasus countries and strategic perspectives of their development, unresolved conflicts in the post-soviet area and their possible settlements will be among the discussed topic at the conference.
