TURKPA`s attending OSCE Ministerial Council appraised

Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TURKPA) Ramil Hasanov has said the Assembly`s participation in the 18th meeting of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Ministerial Council in Lithuanian capital Vilnius is a remarkable event.

“This is a very important achievement for TURKPA,” Hasanov told AzerTAc`s reporter.
“I want to thank Lithuania, which chairs the OSCE, as well as Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey.”

“TURKPA`s attending the Ministerial Meeting of OSCE, one of the world`s leading organizations, opens up a brilliant opportunity for our Assembly to expand cooperation with the Organization and build relations with its bodies,” said Hasanov. He also praised the role of Azerbaijan`s embassy in Lithuaniain expanding cooperation between TURKPA and the Baltic Assembly.”

The Ministerial Council is the central decision-making and governing body of the OSCE. The meeting, held annually, provides the foreign ministers of the 56 OSCE participating States with an opportunity to review and assess the Organization`s activities during the past year and offer national viewpoints on security matters.
