
German ARTE TV channel has broadcasted two documentary films on Azerbaijan. The first documentary highlighted Azerbaijan`s ancient ashug art, traditions and culture, as well as the country`s development after regaining independence.
The documentary featured interviews with residents of Lerik, “the land of long-livers in Azerbaijan”. It also highlights the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including the occupation of 20% of Azerbaijan`s lands by Armenia.The translation of the film into German involved Naiba Hantel, an official at the Azerbaijanis Coordination Center in Germany.
Another film, called Blur der Welt (Blood of the World), highlighted a strategic fight for energy sources of the world, emphasizing Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring the world energy security.
The film featured the history of Azerbaijan’s growing into one of the world`s most important oil producers after the collapse of the Soviet union.
