Azerbaijan ambassador takes office in Japan

Newly-appointed ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan Gursel Ismayilzadeh on Monday presented his credentials to Naruhito, Crown Prince of Japan. Crown Prince Naruhito has temporarily taken the role of the emperor in affairs of state due to the Japanese Emperor Akihito’s illness.

Prince Naruhito of Japan and ambassador Gursel Ismayilzadeh discussed development of economic cooperation between Japan and Azerbaijan after the official ceremony. The Azerbaijan ambassador offered Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev’s condolences to the people of Japan following recent natural disasters there. Crown Prince of Japan, in turn, asked the Azerbaijan ambassador to convey greetings and sincere wishes to the Head of the Azerbaijani state.
