The EU gives significant importance to its cooperation with Azerbaijan, the head of the EU delegation in Baku, Roland Kobia said on Tuesday at the final conference on "Developing Ombudsman skills and supporting awareness on discrimination", taking place within the twinning project between the Azerbaijani Ombudsman Office and the German Institute for the Protection of Rights and Freedoms.
"Every EU country has undertaken certain obligations; this includes within the sphere of human rights. All European countries must constantly strive for self-improvement in this area because no country has achieved an ideal condition of human rights and democracy", Kobia said.
Kobia continued to say that after Azerbaijan undertook an obligation to protect human rights and democracy, a legal framework was created in country.
"The most difficult phase begins in the execution of those laws. We will help Azerbaijan in this sphere", Kobia added.
