Azerbaijan, Moldova discuss prospects for cooperation

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Moldova Namig Aliyev has met the country`s Prime Minister Vladimir Filat to discuss the current state of and prospects for bilateral relationship and cooperation within international organizations. The Prime Minister underlined the necessity of establishment of relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova in all spheres, particularly economic one and development of cooperation within international organizations.

Filat said his country was keen on development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy sector. He added Moldova wants to participate in international projects to be adopted on transportation of Caspian energy resources to Europe. On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Filat said his country supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity and praised the fact that official Baku backs the territorial integrity of Moldova on the Transnistrian issue.

Ambassador Aliyev in turn said he would make efforts to contribute to boosting bilateral relations. The diplomat said Azerbaijan had opportunities to make investments in Moldova`s economy. He added such projects had already been implemented in Georgia, Ukraine and Romania.

The ambassador said Azerbaijan-Moldova cooperation within GUAM should enter a new stage.
Aliyev thanked the Prime Minister as official Chisinau supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
