27 September 2010 [17:23] - TODAY.AZ
“The OSCE fact-finding mission in the occupied regions of Azerbaijan is very important for us. This mission will play an important role in discovering of realities and delivering them to the world”, said chairman of the Public Union of the Azerbaijani Community of Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan Bayram Safarov in his interview with the ruling New Azerbaijan Party’s website.

Safarov said Azerbaijan stated about the uncontrolled territories in the occupied regions of Azerbaijan and destruction of the historic, material and spiritual monuments by Armenia.

“Despite that Armenia tries to reject these facts. Therefore we attach an importance to the fact-finding mission in the region. Involvement of the UN officials in the mission is also a sign of seriousness of the issue. I consider that UN’s participation in this mission will be in favor of cause”.

Reminding about the prolongation of the peace talks under the different Armenian pretexts, the community leader said it was time to take serious steps against the aggressors.

“The United Nations should demonstrate its resolute position on the conflict. Hundreds of thousands people were expelled from the occupied lands and became refugees and internally displaced persons. The international community should protect rights of these people. The facts of Armenian aggressive policy should be confirmed. In this context, the OSCE fact-finding mission can play a great role”.
