On Oct. 29, Azerbaijan`s Minister of National Security, Lieutenant-General Eldar Mahmudov has paid a visit to Lithuania for talks aimed at boosting relations between the two countries` security authorities.

During the visit Mahmudov met Head of the State Security Department Povilas Malakauskas and they explored prospects for strengthening cooperation in combating terrorism, illegal drug haul and organized crime.
They also discussed regional situation, in particular Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Azeri minister said the dispute poses “a serious threat to regional and international security”.
Mahmudov called the international community to increase efforts towards finding “a soonest possible solution” to the conflict.
While in Lithuania Mahmudov also met Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius.
