OSCE Office in Baku calls on women for active participation in the elections

The international organizations, donors and representatives of embassies called on Azerbaijani women for active participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The discussions focused on juridical frame, political presentation, political parties, voting, civil education, election administration, election observation and various issues including training for the elected women candidates.

The issues concerning the obstacles for participation of women in the elections were talked about, and recommendations were made on the best experiences integrating the gender issues into all aspects of election process.

Representative of OSCE Office in Baku stressed that, gender perspective will be integral part of election observation and evaluation: “Taking into account the importance of spreading information on this significant matter, OSCE Office in Baku in-cooperation with participants and by means of its woman net will deliver collections on woman and election process to local and international staff for usage in the areas”.
