Azerbaijani, Latvian ministers mull cooperation opportunities

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev has met Minister of Economics of Latvia Dana Reizniece-Ozola in Baku, in the framework of the Latvian Days running in Azerbaijan from November 23 to December 12.

The Azerbaijani minister highlighted the importance of economic cooperation.

Aliyev also spoke of the contributions of energy field to economy of the country.

He underlined the importance of regional and global projects realized with the country`s participation and stressed the role of Azerbaijan in ensuring the energy security of Europe.

The energy minister also touched upon the Southern Gas Corridor project.

Reizniece-Ozola, in turn, said her country was interested in benefiting from the energy resources of Azerbaijan.

As part of the Latvian Days, the Azerbaijani-Latvian business forum was held on November 25, gathering about 20 Latvian companies, operating in ICT, food production, logistics, economy, medicine and pharmacy, tourism, education, design and architecture, and the production of organic fertilizers.

In this framework, Baku’s Heydar Aliyev Center is also hosting an exhibition, featuring the works of famous Latvian artists Alexei Naumov, Kristaps Zarins and Andris V?toli?š entitled "Different Sea. One World," which will last until February 29.

Moreover, Baku’s Grandezza shopping center opened its doors for the fashion show by the Latvian designer on November 26, enabling the Azerbaijani fashion-mongers to acquire the best works of Latvian designers without leaving the country.
