
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a pardon decree, dedicated to Eid al-Adha.
Around 134 prisoners, sentenced to imprisonment, two prisoners sentenced to suspended sentence were pardoned. One was freed from forced labor, 16 prisoners - from the penalty in the form of a fine.
It should be stressed that former economic development minister Farhad Aliyev and former chairman of the board of directors of Azpetrol group of companies Rafiq Aliyev are among the pardoned.
The citizens of Iran, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Nigeria and Bangladesh are among those pardoned.
The decree enters into force upon signature.
