‘Vietnam seeks cooperation with Azerbaijan in various spheres’

Vietnam is interested in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields, including political, economic and humanitarian ones, Hoang Binh Quan, chairman of the External Relations Commission of the Vietnam Communist Party`s Central Committee said Wednesday at a meeting with vice-speaker of the Azerbaijan National Assembly, Ziyafat Asgarov.

Binh Quan praised the accomplishments achieved in Azerbaijan since the country regained independence. “We also highly appreciate Azerbaijan`s contributions to ensuring security and peace across the world.”

Hoang Binh Quan also praised ruling New Azerbaijan Party`s (YAP) hosting the 7th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP). He said this fact demonstrates how YAP`s international image had increased.

Asgarov, in turn, said the New Azerbaijan Party was interested in expansion of cooperation with ICAPP. “Hosting ICAPP`s General Assembly is very important to us.”

Asgarov also said that with its more than 600,000 members, YAP was the biggest party in the South Caucasus region. He added YAP plays great role in comprehensive development of Azerbaijan and in increasing the country`s international prestige.

According to Asgarov, ruling parties and parliaments of Azerbaijan and Vietnam contribute to boosting bilateral relationship. He added establishment of working groups in legislative bodies, reciprocal visits and exchange of experience serve both countries` interests.
