Azerbaijan provides aid to Hurricane Sandy victims

The Azerbaijani embassy in the United States attended the ceremony of donations for Sandy relief efforts. The embassies of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Palestine, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Tunisia and Libya attended the event held on the initiative of the Jordan embassy in the United States and with the participation of Muslim countries.

The photos on the history and culture of the country, brochures, musical instruments and national clothes, national cuisine were demonstrated in Azerbaijan’s booth. The funds collected from the sales of specimens of art and carpet-weaving during the auction were transferred to a special fund set up for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
