Azerbaijani parliamentarian Ganira Pashayeva has left for New York to attend High-level Segment of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The 2012 Annual Ministerial Review will be held during the High-level Segment of the substantive session of the ECOSOC at United Nations Headquarters in New York. It will focus on the theme “Promoting productive capacity, employment and decent work to eradicate poverty in the context of inclusive, sustainable and equitable economic growth at all levels for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”.
The Annual Ministerial Review session will also feature keynote addresses on employment-related issues with the participation of Ministers of Labour, Development Cooperation, Economics, Finance, Foreign Affairs, Executive Heads of UN Agencies, Funds and Programmes, and representatives of civil society, private sector and academia.
The Segment will feature a meeting at the Eurasia Press Fund, where Pashayeva will make a report on “The Cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and civil society in implementing the Millennium Development Goals until 2015”.
