‘Armenia finally tears mask off itself’

Political scientist Fikret Sadikhov said initially neither the ruling clan, nor the opposition forces in Armenia were interested in neither Prague, nor the updated Madrid principles.

 “It was a screen for the Armenian side, behind which it was trying to hide its specific intentions to keep the status quo and control the Azerbaijani territories,” he said. Sadikhov commented on the criticism of Armenian politicians to the Madrid principles.

“The OSCE Minsk Group’s indifferent position strengthens Armenia. But, no one doubted that Armenia will recognize neither Madrid, no other principles. Now, stating about this, they finally tore their mask off, the mask behind which Armenia tried to hide its real plans. They state about imaginary successes. It is ridiculous and stupid to name the disastrous economic situation that Armenian faced as a success,” he added. .

Sadikhov said the Armenian side in the face of Yerevan, as well as opposition, is not able to hold  a constructive dialogue. They maneuver, dissemble and attempt to hide their plans behind real facts and events.
 
"So I think that neither the Madrid principles, nor any agreement at the international level has ever been the criteria of the Karabakh conflict resolution. Unfortunately, all the statements and talk about the need for bilateral compromise cause only sorrow and a smile, because it is essentially a mockery over common sense," he added.
