On 27 October famous Lithuanian jazz musician, saxophonist Kestutis Vaiginis will perform in International Mugam Center together with Emil Mammadov. His concert forms a part of Baku jazz festival – a major Azerbaijan jazz event which brings together world famous jazzmen from all over the world.
“It’s exciting to perform for Baku audience and I am very eager to play with well known Azerbaijani musicians” – says Kestutis Vaiginis. – “I’ve hear a lot about long-standing Azerbaijani jazz traditions and its close ties with mugam music. That really fascinates me!”
Kestutis Vaiginis (born 1978) is a Lithuanian jazz musician of younger generation, beloved by the audience for his delicate sound, lyrical and emotional approach. Kestutis plays both classical music and jazz, and also composes. In his compositions he combines expression of modern jazz and academic music with national flavour. Kestutis Vaiginis studied at the Vilnius Conservatoire (Lithuania), North Netherlands Conservatoire, Amsterdam College of Music (Holland) and Manhattan School of Music (New York). He is a winner of various national and international competitions.
