Baku to host event on 70th anniversary of prominent Azeri pianist & composer

On March 16, the Haydar Aliyev Palace will host an event devoted to the 70th birthday of prominent Azerbaijani pianist and composer, laureate of the Republic State Prize, Vagif Aziz oglu Mustafazadeh.

President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on celebrating the 70th jubilee of Vagif Mustafazadeh.

Under the presidential order, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism was tasked to make and implement an action plan devoted to the 70th anniversary of birth of Vagif Mustafazadeh, considering the proposals of Azerbaijan Composers Union.

The above said events will be held under the action plan.

Mustafazadeh's creativity forms one of new striking pages of the history of Azerbaijani music culture of XX century. He created precious works by mixing ancient Azerbaijani mugham and jazz.

His compositions were included into the world music pearls as inimitable samples of jazz-mugham. He is the architect of Azerbaijan Mugham Jazz Movement.
