Famous choreographer to mold master classes in Baku

The Azerbaijani State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Baku has invited the talented choreographer, teacher-tutor, Alexandra Tikhomirova, to conduct master classes for the theater’s ballet group.

Tikhomirova will also work with the leading soloists of the theater with a view to improve their skills during the performances. These trainings will be conducted from November 28 to December 5.

Alexandra Tikhomirova graduated from the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory (Choreography Department) majoring in coaching choreography.

As an assistant pedagogue of the Department of Plastic Education of the State Academy of Theater Arts she taught the discipline of dance at the master shops of V. Filshtinsky, Yu. Krasovsky, and L. Dodin since 1997. As of January 2001, Tikhomirova has worked as pedagogue at the Department of Plastic Education of the State Academy of Theater Arts named after N. Cherkasov. She was the tutoring pedagogue for G. Trostyanetsky and V. Retsepter’s classes. In 2001 – 2006, she worked as coaching pedagogue at the ballet troupe under the guidance of Nikita Dolgushin at the State Opera and Ballet Theater of the St. Petersburg Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory. Since February 2006, Tikhomirova is the coaching pedagogue of the St. Petersburg State Academy Yakobson Ballet under the guidance of Yu. Petukhov.

As a choreographer she took part in the following performances: “A Ball at Fleur de Lys” (Ballet School at the Helsinki National Opera, Finland, 2000), “Le Comte de Monte-Cristo” (Riga Drama Theater, director A. Ozols, 2000), “Don Juan X” (Riga Dailes Drama Theater, director J. Jilinger, 2000), “Master Alexander” Riga Dailes Drama Theater, director P. Krylovs, choreographer, 2002), “Days of Our Life” (Riga Dailes Drama Theater, director M. Gruzdov, 2003), “A Green Bird” (Riga Dailes Drama Theater, director F. Deich, nomination “For the Best Choreography in a Dramatic Performance” of the Latvian Theater Award, 2003), “Two Novels” (St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, director V. Retsepter, 2003), “There Lived a Poor Knight…” (St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, director V. Retsepter, 2004), Shakespeare and Gogol Are There in the Mirrors” (St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts, director V. Retsepter, 2005), “A Mermaid” (Pushkin School Theater Studio, director V. Retsepter, 2006), musical “Another Sherlock Holms” (Riga Dailes Drama Theater, director A. Berzinsh, 2006), “Rigoletto” (Mariinsky Theater, director I. Gabitov, 2007).
