The Museum of Modern Art will open its doors to the “Engravings from Argentina” exhibition on September 10.

Organized by the Argentine embassy in Azerbaijan, the exhibition will feature the works of talented artists such as Marcelo Malagamba, Marcelo Aguilar, Pablo Delfini, Osvaldo Khalil, and Marina Rothberg.

The goal of the exhibition is to experiment with different technical and professional styles and unearth the deep connection between artist and audience.

Graphics is a kind of art that requires great skill in woodcarving and lithography, and images on silk are considered its derivatives.

The exhibition will last until October 9. Those who wish to visit the unique exhibition may attend from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm.

The address of the venue is Yusif Safarov street, 5. The cost of the ticket is 5 manat, and discount tickets for students will be available at 2 manat.

Azerbaijan and Argentina enjoy good ties in many spheres including culture.

The two countries hold several cultural events, including exhibitions, concerts, and dance events.

This May, an enchanting classic music concert devoted to the 250th anniversary of Argentina’s Independence Day was held in Baku.

Earlier, Carlos Dante Riva, the Argentine Ambassador to Baku told AzerNews that not only have the two countries signed various agreements at governmental level developing economic, science and agricultural relations, but the two sides have also brought together the people through mutual knowledge.

“In this direction we have organized numerous cultural presentations of argentine music, art, sport, and of course the world-known tango. Furthermore, we are working with the Museum of Modern Art on a possible Argentine engravings exhibition in September. Another project we are working on, with the help of the Azerbaijan Translation Centre, is the translation of Argentine books into Azerbaijani, specifically ‘La invención de Morel’ of Adolfo Bioy Casares and one about the history of Tango,” Riva said.
