Yuriy Boyko: Ukraine intends to purchase gas from Azerbaijan

Ukraine will buy gas from Azerbaijan, Minister of Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko said, “Kommersant” newspaper reported.

At a press conference, Minister of Energy stated that Ukraine intends to reduce the volume of gas purchased from Russia from 2015. Ukraine will achieve it by increasing its own gas production, considering natural gas sources exported from abroad.

”These measures will allow us to purchase 12.5 bn cubic meters from 40 bn cubic meters of gas,(which we buy from Russia) from Azerbaijan”, Boyko added.
