
Azerbaijan will play a main partnership role of the Sixth Annual Silk Road Conference next week in Chicago, the organizers said.
The annual event will take place at Illinois Institute of Technology July 20, with the continuing annual theme of “Global Energy Security”.
Elin Suleymanov, Counsel General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, will address the auditorium on the topic of “the Importance of the Caspian Basin and Energy Resources” while other speakers, including Zaheer Pervaiz Khan, Counsel General of Pakistan in Chicago, Gabriel Dutu, Counsel for Economic Affairs, Consulate General of Romania, Fatih Yildiz, Counsel General of the Republic of Turkey in Chicago, will focus on other Regional Corridor for Energy Security issues including the Benefits of the Nabucco Pipeline.
Among the panelists, Gulmira Ryazeva, Research Fellow from the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan will discuss the “Economic Realities of the Region” Prof. Ozgur Arslan Apaydin from Hacettepe University, Ankara will make a speech about “Natural Monopoly in Electricity and Natural Gas Industries”.
