Hungary to join Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector

Hungary intends to join the Azerbaijani-Georgian-Romanian energy project AGRI, implementation of which will transport the liquefied gas from the Caspian region to Europe, Ukrainian media reported quoting Romanian President Traian Basescu as saying after talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Janos Martonyiheld in Bucharest.

According to Traian Basescu, joining of Hungary to the project was obvious, since by the end of this year transportation system will be ready, which connects Romanian and Hungarian gas network. The Hungarian network, respectively connect with the Austrian, and, thus, liquefied gas from the Caspian region could easily be supplied in individual EU countries.

April 13, Romania, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed in Tbilisi an agreement on the establishment of a joint company that will carry Azerbaijani natural gas through pipelines Black Sea coast of Georgia, where the gas is liquefied Bude on a special terminal after which the tanker will be delivered to the terminal in the Romanian port of Constanta. In the future, gas will lead to a state of natural gas will flow to consumers Romania and other European countries. The project is estimated at 4-6 billion euros.
