Azerbaijan ranking fifth among CIS states for salary level

The average salary in Azerbaijan makes $317, which brings the country to the fifth place for the said indicator among the CIS states. To compare, the average salary in Russia made $718 in May of 2008, in Kazakhstan $485, Belarus $396, Ukraine $356.
In Armenia the indicator equals $293, Moldova $245, Kyrgyzstan $137 and Tajikistan $63. This data is provided by the Intergovernmental statistical committee of the CIS.

The real average monthly salary, considering rise in consumer prices, rose by 4% in Azerbaijan in January-May of 2008 as compared to the due period of the last year, in Belarus by 8%, in Moldova and Ukraine by 10%, in Kyrgyzstan by 11%, in Armenia and Tajikistan by 13% and in Russia by 14%.
