Ashgabat hosts Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan business forum

A source from the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) told Day.Az that the event was attended by a delegation of 20 Azerbaijani businessmen.

They were welcomed by representatives of 13 ministries (of taxes, customs, agriculture and others), as well as chairman of the Turkmenistan Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs Union Alexander Qadayev.

Pevlan Taqanov, head of the Turkmen delegation and chairman of the commercial and industrial chamber of Turkmenistan delivered a speech, thanked the participants for the interest displayed. Representatives of the Ministry of Taxes, Turkmen Stock Exchange and Ministry of Economy also delivered speech at the event.

AZPROMO president Emil Mejidov familiarized the participants with main indicators of socioeconomic situation in Azerbaijan.

By results of the event the Turkmen side expressed wish to familiarize with production and services of the Azerbaijani business and plans to arrange a visit of the Turkmen delegation to Azerbaijan in the near future.

In the framework of the visit, Azerbaijani delegation visited the grave of the first president of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov, as well as the biggest Mosque in Middle Asia "Turkmenbashinin ruhi mecheti".
