02 June 2008 [09:19] - TODAY.AZ
Islamic Development Bank discusses possible participation in financing of the electric energy project with the government of Azerbaijan, said chief of IDB regional representation Nick Zeynal Abidin.
He said the project is related to construction of energy distribution lines and generators, for which the bank can allot a credit of $45,000,000-50,000,000 under commercial provisions, as it considers such projects to be commercially profitable. "We hope to start its implementation within a year", said Abidin.

He noted that today the bank finances construction of the Khachmaz substation and Mingechevir electric power station.

Moreover, the Islamic Development Bank also intends to finance one more road project, after projects of reconstruction of a part of Baku-Georgian border highway (IDB credit-$45,000,000) and construction of Ujar - Yevlakh and Yevlakh- Ganja roads ($30,000,000) are completed. The projects implementation is proposed to take a year.
