Cutting water supply to Baku and Sumgayit is a sabotage against Ilham Aliyev

70% of Sumgayit and the whole Binagadi district of Baku were left without water on May 20. Other densely populated districts of the Azerbaijani capital are also under this threat.

Day.Az correspondent has appealed to Milli Medjlis deputy Guler Ahmedova with a request to comment on the situation around this issue.

"The situation between Sumgayitelektrikshebeke and Azersu, which caused inconveniences for ordinary people, can be called a sabotage.

If the issue between two state structures negatively affects the social life of ordinary citizens and even so more this occurs in the year of presidential elections, the attitude of these structure leaders to the state system is unclear.

It is not a problem of ordinary people that someone owes to somebody. I have doubts about the common sense of the people, who have made the decision. Don't they think that it is impossible to leave people without water in summer season or don't they take sick people and families with infants into account.

This can only be called a sabotage against President Ilham Aliyev and an attempt to incite the citizens against the authorities in the year of elections. If these structures have any unsettled issues, they can settle them in the Cabinet of Ministers.

It should be noted that according to spokesman for Sumgayitelektrikshebeke Anar Quliyev, 70% of Sumgayit city and the whole Binagadi district of Baku were left without water.

According to the press service, this is connected with a power debt of the Azersu water economy, accumulated by January 1 of 2008 in the amount of AZN 37,940,788 and through 4 months of this year the amount made AZN 3,449,836.

This means these are ordinary people who suffer from clashes between monopolists.
