Investments to Azerbaijan's non-oil sector predicted to top $5 bln

AZN 4.2 billion (more than $5 billion)is expected in investment in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector in 2008, said the country’s minister of economic development Heydar Babayev.
He added that more than $50 billion has to date been invested in the economy of Azerbaijan through all financing sources.

"There is a remarkable change in the structure of investment. Investment inflow into the non-oil sector is increasing year by year. This figure was $2.6 billion in 2006, $3.3 billion in 2007, up 27% from 2006," he added.
